In Canada's Nova Scotia, Dalhousie University is a public university. George Ramsay, the ninth Earl of Dalhousie and the Lieutenant General of Nova Scotia, founded it in 1818. Both students and staff members use the numerous gardens and green areas on the Dalhousie campus. Due to the chilly weather in the winter, the university also offers a shuttle service to transport students from their residence halls to the main campus building.

The university also includes a superb library with a range of amenities like round-the-clock study rooms, group study areas, and access to internet databases. With more than a million books, Killam Memorial Library is the largest library in Atlantic Canada.
