Founded in Welland in 1967 and located in the Heart of the Niagara Region – just minutes from one of the world’s most well-known tourism destinations – Niagara College offers more than 130 innovative programs between its state-of-the-art campuses in Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Together its campuses provide unique living laboratories and top notch facilities that deliver hands-on applied learning opportunities, world-class applied research, and smaller class sizes in an intimate and friendly environment.
At Niagara College, more than 9,000 full-time students study in diploma, graduate certificate, apprenticeship and Bachelor’s Degree programs. It also welcomes more than 15,000 Part-Time Studies registrants each year, who study in 600 plus credit, vocational and general interest programs. NC offers programs that provide real-world experience and are taught by passionate faculty committed to student success, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind educational experience.
A vibrant culture and community are important to students’ academic success. Niagara College has a long history of athletic excellence. NC intercollegiate athletics program has won seven national championships and thirty-five provincial championships. Gymnasiums and Fitness Centres are designed to ensure that all students have the ability to participate in a variety of recreational, fitness, and athletic activities.
The bookstores at the Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses are open year-round to students and the general public, offering textbooks, supplies, computer accessories, trade and reference books, clothing, gift-ware and more.
The Niagara-on-the-Lake Campus is located between Glendale Avenue and the Queen Elizabeth Way, a transportation corridor that exists between Toronto and the United States and offers daily GO Bus service to Toronto. This 125-acre campus features ecological lagoons, wetland systems, landscaped gardens and a 40-acre on-campus teaching vineyard.
Recognized for its commitment to sustainability and naturalization, the Welland Campus is located in a friendly, residential community in the heart of the Niagara Region. The campus is home to the NC Teaching Hair Salon, the Walker Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Centre, NC Research and Innovation, a new Green Automotive Technology lab and the Rankin Technology Centre.

Niagara College Scholarships & Financial Aid
The college offers more than 200,000 CAD to its international students every year in the form of scholarships and awards to study in Canada. For international students, there are three types of scholarships available:
- Entrance Scholarships – These scholarships are for the freshmen at Niagara College Canada. The average amount for this scholarship is 2,000 CAD.
- Current Scholarships – These scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, financial need, and volunteerism of international students.
- International Student Awards – International students that are engaged in co-curricular activities and perform well academically are rewarded by the Niagara college through this award. No application is required for this award. One recipient is chosen from each academic school.
To provide maximum number of students financial relief, Niagara College provides only one scholarship or award per fall or winter session per student.
