The Parkland College was founded by the Province of Saskatchewan in 1971 as Parkland Regional College (1973-2008). It was renamed Parkland College (2008). The College primarily serves the education and training needs of communities and industry partners in east central Saskatchewan and western Manitoba. Parkland College offers adult basic education; business and industry; career and support services; computer training; general interest; online training; Sask Polytech and other institute certificate programs. Select university programs are offered at the undergraduate and graduate level in partnership with University of Saskatchewan and University of Regina. Scholarships & Financial Aid offered at Parkland College
In 1998, Parkland College celebrated its 25th Anniversary, during which they started a Parkland College Scholarship Initiative. The college has since then offered scholarships which have crossed the total value of $1,00,000 . The college offers scholarships to international students who want to study in Canada with a motto to promote, encourage and sponsor education and training for students.
In the 2019-20 academic year, the college granted more than $90,000 to students in the form of scholarships.
Students applying for the scholarships need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria as stated by the college. The university offers two types of scholarships to students based on merit and financial need:
Internal Scholarships
Internal Scholarships are offered to students who are already studying and enrolled at one of the full-time programs at the university, skills, training and adult basic education programs. The Internal Scholarship Program for the academic year 2020 consisted of 60 awards. The total value of the 2020 Internal Scholarship program was $50,000.
The deadline for applying to the Internal Scholarship Program for the 2020 academic year is over. Students can check the university website for the 2021 International Scholarship Program deadline in the month of December.
Students can apply for the internal scholarship via the online application form. Students can apply for a maximum of three scholarships.
Entrance Scholarships
Students who will be entering in first-year or full-time education in college or skills training in the Fall session are eligible to apply for the Entrance Scholarships. Nearly 56% students availed the entrance scholarships who applied for it.
Students can apply for a maximum of three scholarships via the online application form. The deadline for the application form is May 19, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. The documents required along with the application are:
- Copy of High School Transcript
- Letter of Rationale
Successful candidates who are selected for the scholarship will be notified in the month of June.
Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship (SAS)
Students who are enrolled in programs whose starting date is August 1, 2019 are eligible for these scholarships and will be automatically recognized for this scholarship by applying to the student loans.

Parkland College International Student Admissions
The programs offered at Parkland College are in several specializations and are open to applicants from different parts of the world. However, the applicants must understand and check the admission requirements before they apply for admission at College as requirements for domestic and international students may vary.

Basic Admission Requirements: The general documents to be submitted by all international students for applying for programs at the college include:
- Completed online application form
- Official transcripts from previous high school, or college
- Notarized translation of official transcripts from other language to English
- English language proficiency tests (such as IELTS) sent directly to the admission office of the university from the testing service.
- Copy of first and last page of international passport
Visa Process for International Students
After an admission offer is given and accepted, it is vital for international applicants to apply for a student permit in order to study in Canada to be issued by the Canadian embassy. It is required for programs longer than 6 months. Students will be asked to produce a student visa before July 31. The ideal time to apply for a student permit is before May 15 to allow sufficient time for processing.
Applicant should prepare the following documents for visa application:
- Valid International Passport
- Visa Application Form
- Acceptance letter from designated university
- Financial support for tuition fee, living expenses and transport to/from Canada.
- Police Certificate and Medical Examination
- Desire to leave Canada at the end of the authorized stay.
After submission of all the necessary documents, the applicant must schedule an interview for the visa application process. Students should also prepare for the interview to have a positive result.
