Seneca College Teaching Quality
Each professor brings to Seneca their own set of experiences. By promoting the best possible teaching and learning across the College, providing resources for faculty to be productive and creative, and promoting reflective practise, we support that talent and expertise. All Seneca faculty members are passionate about their work and their students, but they also understand that teaching is first and foremost a human activity. They are compassionate, imaginative, and dedicated to ensuring that students succeed in their crucial role of leading and guiding learning.
Seneca professors engage with students as active learning partners, show a genuine interest in them, work to advance their subject-matter knowledge, and serve as role models for core literacy. They understand how crucial it is to introduce students to one another and to pertinent material in a global setting in order to foster relationships that will continue throughout their time at Seneca and beyond. Faculty are aware of the necessity of integrating the right technology into their instruction to actively engage students.
Seneca faculty members are dedicated to improving their teaching practises through reflection, formative self-evaluation, and formal and informal learning in addition to possessing the necessary credentials and professional experience.
To motivate their students, faculty will use a range of instructional strategies that are based on the literature of teaching and learning. In order to push pupils to meet a high standard of learning, they will choose real and interesting learning activities. Faculty will continually investigate, integrate, and assess teaching practises as they address the questions of "How am I inspiring learning?" and "How do I know?" by working together and creating networks around teaching and learning.
