The University of Calgary is a public research university with origins in the University of Alberta's Calgary campus. The name of Calgary University was changed to University of Alberta in Calgary in 1957 as a result of a pledge from the provincial government (UAC). The University of Calgary became independent of the University of Alberta in April 1966 and was founded as a distinct organisation. The University of Calgary has expanded dramatically, going from having roughly 4,000 students in 1966 to more than 33,000 in 2022. It now has 5 campuses with a combined budget of $1.3 billion.

University of Calgary Application Process

Both graduate and undergraduate programmes at the University of Calgary use the same application procedure. Since it takes roughly six months to obtain a study permit for Canada, international applicants are recommended to submit their applications at least 10 months before the application deadline.

The steps of applying to University of Calgary are as follows:
