AIS St Helens was the previous name for Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS). It is one of New Zealand's largest privately held degree-granting schools, having been created in 1990. It began in Auckland's downtown area. Three years after its founding, the institute relocated to Albert, Auckland, and turned the former St Helens Maternity Hospital building into a tertiary residential campus.
