Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) was founded in 1962 by the Church of England as a college for teaching. It achieved the status of public university in 2005.
Now it has around 15,000 students based across Kent in Canterbury, Medway and Tunbridge Wells, 6 per cent of whom are internationals from 80 countries.
It is one of a few universities with a university campus on a World Heritage site.
Many of the Christ Church Canterbury courses are professional and provide extensive training in order to find a job or a career. All courses have work-related experience and many years of training help build useful business contacts.
Six months after completing their studies, 93 per cent of Canterbury Christ Church undergraduate students were employed or in further studies.
Canterbury Christ Church University Campus
The campuses and centers of Canterbury Christ Church University are located across Kent in Canterbury, Medway and Tunbridge Wells.
The main campus of Christ Church is located in the world-famous city of Canterbury The University also has a Medway campus and a Tunbridge Wells centre.
In October 2004 the Medway campus opened as a part of the Medway Partnership Universities that includes the three universities Canterbury Christ Church, Kent University and Greenwich University. Health, social and early years programs are provided here.
In Turn bridge, the Salomons Institute hosts a vocational and postgraduate course.

Canterbury is a world heritage site of great cultural and historical interest, with a renowned cathedral. The city offers three cinemas, 2 theatres, and museums ranging from a medieval England recreation in the Canterbury Tales, to the Longmarket underground Roman Museum.
The coast can be reached in an hour, just a short drive away.

Awards
- In May 2018 the university won a prestigious International Green Gown Award in recognition of its sustainability commitment and its progress in this field for "Continuous Improvement: Institutional Change."
- In 2013, the University has been one of the first universities to undertake and produce 'zero waste' and has also obtained the certification for its environmental governance system ISO14001. It was one of the first universities in 2017 to reach the new standard.

Those enrolled in full-time programmes may work on-campus for 20 hours per week. Students may avail scholarships such as:
- International First Year Scholarship: 25 scholarships; Value- 20,000 NZD.
- UC Masters Scholarships: 25 Scholarships; tuition fees at the domestic rate.
- UC International Doctoral Scholarships: tuition fees at the domestic rate + 21,000 NZD.
- New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZIDRS): tuition fees at the domestic rate + 25,000 NZD + medical insurance up to 600 NZD per annum.

Canterbury Christ Church University English requirements
All applicants for undergraduate programmes will need a minimum English level of IELTS or equivalent 6.0 overall, with no less than 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in all other bands. Some programmes require 6.5/7.0 – please contact the International Office if you are unsure of your course requirement.
For postgraduate entry all applicants will need a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in writing and no less than 5.5 in all other bands or equivalent. Some courses have a higher requirement – please contact the International Office if you are unsure of your course requirement.
For International Foundation entry all applicants will need a minimum of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent, with no less than 5.0 in Writing and no less than 4.0 in all other bands.
If you have taken an IGCSE exam in English and have a Grade C, this will also usually be acceptable for most undergraduate courses.
We are also able to consider some non-UK English qualifications for entry. The International Admissions Team will advise if they are able to accept your English language qualification once you have applied.
