Also called LJMU, Liverpool John Moores University is an open research university. Its history dates back to 1823 when Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts was formed. The school was later converted into Liverpool Polytechnic. In 1992, it received university status to become Liverpool John Moores University. Notably, the university is officially associated with the Northern Consortium, University Alliance and the European University Association.
Situated in Liverpool, England, the university offers academic facilities through its 3 campuses namely City Campus, I M Marsh Campus and Mount Pleasant Campus. The city campus consists of some of the major buildings and departments. The Mount Pleasant Campus is home to the Faculty of Law and Business. I M Marsh Campus is located in Aigburth and houses the Community, Education, and Leisure faculty. All three campuses are equipped with modern facilities.

- Meet the conditions stated in your full-time, Undergraduate (UG) course offer letter
- Not already benefit from an existing scholarship
Essential Criteria
Candidates must:
- have an offer of study before they are eligible to apply for scholarship funding
- not have already studied a undergraduate degree
- pay their tuition fee deposit before the 31 July 2019 to secure the scholarship
- have the funds to cover the remaining living costs, travel and any other costs associated with studying at the University

In order to qualify for one of the below scholarships, you must first meet a set list of criteria. Awards will be granted upon candidates meeting all conditions along with the presentation of an outstanding application and supporting documentation.

Sporting criteria:
Liverpool John Moores University encourages applications from elite athletes competing in any recognised BUSA, World University Games, Commonwealth games and Olympic games sport. We will offer Sports Scholarship support to athletes from sports that Liverpool John Moores University is best equipped to provide for, in terms of coaching expertise, sports science expertise and facilities.
Junior or Senior International standard athletes from all sports are encouraged to apply, as are athletes competing at elite club level.
It should be noted that the competitive level benchmarks detailed above serve as preliminary guidelines for the level of athlete eligible to apply. Meeting these guidelines does not guarantee a Liverpool John Moores University Sports Scholarship.
Sports Scholars will have the potential and dedication to reach world-class potential or performance level (or equivalent) in their sport.
Academic criteria:
Sports Scholarships are available to both existing Liverpool John Moores University students and prospective Liverpool John Moores University students. The Sports Scholarship Scheme is university-wide. Students applying for a Liverpool John Moores University Sports Scholarship can study any Liverpool John Moores University course both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Liverpool John Moores University Sports Scholars are athletes who have fulfilled the normal academic requirements for undergraduate or postgraduate entry and are enrolled on a Liverpool John Moores University course.
Sports Scholars must make satisfactory progress in both their sporting and academic pursuits to have their Scholarship renewed annually.
