The university is located mainly on an urban campus between Bolton's Deane Road and Derby Street. There are two residential halls on the campus. Besides that, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE has an educational centre.

Bolton is one of the most vibrant cities in the UK and is at the center of it at the University of Bolton campus. A short walk from the campus is the beautiful city hall, gallery, and museum, as well as the famous Octagon Theatre and the Albert Halls Bolton venue. Bolton also has one of Britain's oldest pubs
There are excellent travel links to towns like Liverpool and Leeds, and Manchester is only 20 minutes away by train. Easily reachable are Lake District, Western Pennine Moors, and Yorkshire Dales. Blackpool's light is only an hour's drive away.

- There is only one campus residence – the Orlando Village housing 381 single-storey self-catering bedrooms.
