The university campus is spread over three sites: Peel Park, MediaCityUK and Frederick Road.
The main campus of Peel Park is less than 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Manchester city center on the banks of the River Irwell, adjacent to Peel Park, possibly the world's first public park, which opened on 22 August 1846.
The university has a great deal of presence in MediaCityUK, a development along the Manchester Ship Canal, in addition to the main Peel Park campus.
Salford is the only university with a MediaCityUK foundation.
