Established in 1897, Bradley University is a private institution that was accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It was earlier known as the Bradley Polytechnic Institute. In 1946, the institute was renamed to its current name. The university began its classes in the Bradley Hall with 14 faculty members and 150 students. By 1899, the number of enrolments at the institute increased to 500 students and a number of subjects were to the academic structure.
In 1940, the university initiated the four-year collegial program. The first music building at the university was developed in 1930. The university comprises six undergraduate colleges and five graduate colleges. In addition, the university offers several scholarships to the students with a good academic record and performance in the qualifying examination. It also provides financial support for the students in the form of work, study, grants, and loans.
