CSU (Colorado State University) was founded in 1870. Colorado Agricultural College was the name of the university's first campus. The university's initial structure, Old Main, was completed in 1878, and the university began accepting students in 1879, with only two faculty members and a president. It currently includes eight colleges that offer education in a variety of subjects. The university has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).
The CSU main campus, located in the heart of Fort Collins, spans 586 acres and includes a 101-acre veterinary teaching hospital. There is also an agricultural campus, a mountain campus, and a foothills campus at the university. It also comprises a 4,043-acre tract used by Colorado State Forest Service research centres and stations. The city of Fort Collins is located near the Rocky Mountains, with 14,000-foot peaks and foothills visible and accessible to people. Students and staff members are frequently observed participating in outdoor activities such as rafting, skiing, and hiking.The university is located in a prime and convenient position to the north of Denver's urban area, only an hour's drive from Denver International Airport.
Agriculture, anthropology, environment, engineering, business, sciences, mathematics, arts, biochemistry, geology, geography, philosophy, history, political science, social sciences, economics, design, architecture, journalism, and languages are among the many doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate degree programmes offered by CSU. Over 28,000 students and 1,500 faculty members attend the research-oriented institution.
