Indiana State University is an age-old public university, serving students since 1865. The institution has been recognized and classified by Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, as a Research/Doctoral University. Since 1915, Indiana State University has been accredited to Higher Learning Commission.
The main campus adjoins the north side of Terre Haute’s downtown business district and covers more than 200 acres in the heart of the city. Varsity soccer, track & field, and baseball fields are located within a mile of the main campus along the Wabash River.
