Ohio Northern University (ONU) is a private university that is affiliated to United Methodist Church. It was founded by Henry Solomon Lehr in the year 1871. It is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission. They have many colleges offering study programs in various subjects, such as arts & sciences, business administration, engineering, law, and pharmacy.
The college offers several kinds of grants like that of the Church Matching Grant (up to 1,000 US dollars), Methodist Crusade Grant, and Ohio College Opportunity Grant. Students can also take the help from federal grants like Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) and TEACH Grant. There are 654 academic staff members at the institute. It has 3,088 students out of which 2,900 are undergraduates. In the earlier part of the 1980s, the institute provided computer-based education to a growing part of the university population. ONU, as it is known to be, has been ranked as 4th among the Midwest regional liberal arts colleges by the U.S News and World Report. Its acceptance rate is 68 percent and it has a 53 percent graduation (4-year) rate.
