Founded in the year 1887, Pratt Institute is a privately-funded university in New York. It was established by American industrialist Charles Pratt with an objective to offer formal education in the fields of architecture, engineering and fine arts. It has accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The university holds affiliations from the American Collegiate Athletic Association and the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The university has its main campus in Brooklyn spread across an area of 25 acres next to Brooklyn Tech Triangle in the Clinton Hill neighbourhood of the city. The site features an assortment of buildings showcasing wondrous architecture, pathways, parking areas and green spaces. Most of the buildings on the campus were built before World War II and hold historical significance. The six-storey Romanesque Revival is the main university building that houses administrative offices, classrooms and the studios of the schools of art and design. The university provides state-of-the-art academic, administrative and support facilities to ensure excellent learning experience for the students.
