Ohio State University, founded in 1870, is a public research university affiliated with APLU, BTAA, ORAU, and AAU. Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College was the university's previous name. It was created with the intention of educating students in the fields of agricultural and mechanical engineering. It was designated as a university in 1878. It is known to be Columbus' ninth-largest university. In 1873, the institution opened its doors to 24 students for the first time.

Ohio State University International Student Admissions
More than 6000 international students from over 100 countries attend the university. The Office of International Affairs is the first point of contact for international students. International students are not eligible for government financial help in the United States.
