The University of Alabama is an open research university that was founded in 1820 and is Alabama's largest and oldest university. The first classes of the university were held in 1831. Universities Research Association, University of Alabama System, and Oak Ridge Associated Universities are just a few of the prestigious organisations with which it is affiliated. William Nicholas, a well-known architect, designed and built the university's infrastructure. His efforts to the construction of the Alabama State Capitol and the Chris Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa are well-known.
The campus covers an area of 1,970 acres. Within the campus, there are around 297 buildings. It provides all of the amenities that students require. Students can also stay at the lodging facilities. The campus infrastructure is well-maintained and administered by the university's administration authority. Many of the university's activities, festivals, quizzes, and competitions take place on campus. The campus is in close proximity to a number of well-known cafes and eateries. The institution provides a bachelor's degree programme as well as a master's degree programme. The undergraduate programme has 33, 305 students while the postgraduate programme has 5,258 students. The university has a total enrollment of 38,563 students. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has granted the university accreditation.
