The Arkansas State Normal School was founded in 1907, but the University of Central Arkansas (Central Arkansas or UCA) was not established until January 1975. This is one of the oldest universities in the U.S. state of Arkansas, located in Conway, Arkansas. The university is distinguished for its business, education, nursing, performing arts, physical therapy, and psychology programmes.
The University of Central Arkansas houses five residential colleges and one community college, including EDGE Residential College, EPIC Residential College, HPaW Residential College, STEM Residential College, The Stars Residential College, and Minton Commuter College. The University is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the state, with 10,870 students enrolled at present (Fall 2019). On its 356 acres of land, the university provides over 150 undergraduate, graduate, and professional programmes in 120 buildings.
