The University of Kansas, also known as KU, is a public research university with its main campus in Lawrence, Kansas. Throughout Kansas, there are numerous satellite campuses, educational and research institutions, classes, and medical centres. In the Kansas City metropolitan region, there are two branch campuses. Garden City, Hays, Leavenworth, Parsons, and Topeka all have research and teaching facilities, as well as medical school sections in Wichita and Salina. The Association of American Universities includes KU.
On March 21, 1865, the university was founded. They are members of AAC&U, ACE, AAU, APLU, and Educause, as well as the Kansas Board of Regents. As of 2018, the university's endowment was worth 1.741 billion dollars. Doug Girod is the chancellor, while Barbara Bichelmeyer is the provost. As of autumn 2019, there are 2,663 academic staff members and 28,423 students enrolled at the university. The university was founded in 1864 by a charter issued by the Kansas State Legislature, which was passed in 1863 under the state constitution.
It was adopted two years after the former Kansas territory was admitted to the union as the 34th state in 1861. As Jayhawks, the university's athletic teams compete in NCAA Division I sports and are members of the Big 12 conference. The varsity sports include rugby, men's volleyball, and ice hockey, as well as club sports such as rugby, men's volleyball, and ice hockey. On February 20th, 1863, Kansas Governor Thomas Carney signed a bill creating the University of Kansas into law.
The institution has five campuses and is a large state-sponsored university. The Association of American Universities, or AAU, includes the University of Kansas. The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education also places it among the "R-1: doctorate universities-highest research activity." During the fall semester of 1965, the KU School of Business began offering interdisciplinary management Science graduate programmes in operations research.

How to apply for an undergraduate at the University of Kansas as an international student
- Candidates must complete the application form and pay the fee.
