Private institution The University of San Diego was established in 1949. After the union of the School of Law and the College for Men in 1772, it began to exist. The university operates eight distinct academic divisions, including the schools of business administration, nursing and health sciences, law, engineering, leadership and education sciences, peace, division of professional and continuing education, and college of arts and sciences. These divisions are overseen by an independent trustee board. This university embraces ecumenism while remaining devoted to the Catholic Faith. The campus is located in the American city of San Diego on a 180-acre plot of property. The campus is convenient for pedestrian traffic.
