Collarts offers students a variety of real-life industry experiences so that they are career-ready when they graduate. Students will have opportunities to apply their studies by partaking in sought-after internships and develop the necessary skills to succeed nationally and internationally.

You will also work closely with students from other courses—including music, audio and fashion—to gain a well-rounded understanding of creative industries.

The Bachelor of Screen & Media will provide students with a knowledge and understanding of film and media production. The course ensures students develop practical skills and experience required to gain employment in the field of screen and media. The degree can be completed in six trimesters (two years) of full-time study. 

Throughout the degree, you will:

  • Create, develop and produce multimedia projects like short films, TV episodes, advertising content, and documentaries; 
  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of screen and media, production, and filmmaking;
  • Gain knowledge and experience in filmmaking, pre and post-production, screenwriting, and directing;
  • Develop an industry relevant portfolio and capstone project;
  • Undertake a 60-hour work placement, alongside additional opportunities to partake in sought-after internships and experiences.
