With Fanshawe's Broadcast Journalism – Television News program, you'll learn the skills necessary to find the heart of every story, and the technical knowledge to share it with your audience.
The television news business is changing. That's why you'll not only learn how to write effective news stories and shine in front of a camera, you'll also develop the skills to operate cameras, edit footage, write captivating news copy and conduct compelling interviews. As well, you'll learn the ins and outs of television production, directing and research. In the end, you'll be a versatile videographer, capable of adapting to any situation and work environment.
You'll also have extensive access to an industry-leading live news studio, green screen facility and Canada's premiere broadcasting centre. Two newsroom internship placements will give you the opportunity to make important industry connections - one placement ongoing throughout the program and another two-month internship during the final semester.
Brock University Articulation Agreement
Brock University and Fanshawe College have developed an articulation agreement to allow qualified students to obtain both a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Film Studies and an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Broadcast Journalism - Television News. Students can start at Brock or Fanshawe and receive credit transfer under this articulation agreement.
