Build on your Business-Accounting Diploma with the Fanshawe Business Administration – Accounting Advanced Diploma program. You'll engage in case-studies, challenging your critical thinking skills and learning how to make better business decisions. Move beyond the basics, and into areas of auditing, financial management and controllership, cost and managerial accounting, and strategic policy and planning. Available in a traditional in class format with September admission.
You can apply for the opportunity to further develop your accounting consulting skills, with the option of substituting two courses for the intensive community consultancy program, working with real business live clients.
Business administration and accounting options
There are options to transfer to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree at Fanshawe. Further details about pathways are available here. You can also be eligible to complete a degree program at many other post-secondary institutions or complement your advanced diploma with a graduate certificate offered at Fanshawe College.
Professional certification
Graduates choosing to pursue the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation may path into Fanshawe's Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree.
Students who complete the program will be eligible for exemptions from ACCA papers F1-F4 and F6.
Important update to CPA Canada's Advanced Certificate in Accounting and Finance (ACAF): In July 2019, CPA Ontario has advised that the CPA ACAF program will be discontinued. Students will have until February 2021 to write the ACAF examination, after which time the CPA will no longer offer any exams for the ACAF. Graduates of the Business Administration - Accounting program are prepared to enter the accounting field in the public sector, the private sector (e.g., manufacturing, service industries and public accounting) as well as the not-for-profit sector. Graduates are suited to a variety of junior-level and intermediate-level positions, including junior accountant, intermediate accountant, accounting specialist, cost accountant, project accountant, assistant controller, accounts payable and receivable supervisor and tax accountant.
