PROGRAM OVERVIEW
CAD/CAM technicians decide how a product is to be manufactured, what types of machines are to be used, and the machining sequence required to manufacture components to industrial standards. This program prepares graduates to become Computer Aided Designers (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) specialists, Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) programmers, General Machinist/CNC, quality control persons or CMM operators in the mouldmaking, tool and die, jig and fixture, and machine tool construction industries. This program is perfect for students who are critical thinkers and able to solve problems. Students need mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently, or as a member of a small team. Although CAM is the main focus of this program, a robust series of CAD courses is included to maximize the success of the student which offers them a competitive edge for employment.
