Program Description

Whether you are interested in performance, composition, digital audio arts or music education, our classical music programs are designed to meet your specific needs and interests.

Explore this performance-intensive learning experience as a singer or instrumentalist. You'll receive one-on-one instruction from master performer-teachers, attend guest artist classes and have multiple performance opportunities throughout the year.

If you are interested in composition, you will work with professional composers and have the opportunity to write for the University’s many ensembles though our composer-in-residence program. Recitals showcase your development and accomplishments as a musician, and your experience is enhanced by participation in ensembles. With 24-hour access, the individual practice studios and composition labs provide you with the freedom to hone your skills on campus.

You have full access to co-operative education, international exchanges, independent and applied studies as well as volunteer opportunities. uLethbridge is the only university in Alberta to offer co-operative education to all majors in the university, at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Participate in a dynamic season of Graduate and Junior recitals, visiting performers and workshops, internship opportunities, recording and producing contracts, professional certification, and competitions at the local to international levels.
