Civil Law Bcl (law And Society) in Dublin City University
The BCL (Law and Society) degree consists of a mixture of compulsory and optional modules.
In Year One, all modules are compulsory.
In Years Two and Three, there are some compulsory modules but you’ll also choose from a range of optional modules.
The BCL is normally a three-year course. However, you can opt to spend an extra year abroad in one of our partner universities in Spain, Scotland, China or Poland, experiencing life in another country and studying another legal system.
Careers
You’ll have the opportunity to study the core modules to prep for entrance exams to the Law Society as a trainee solicitor, or you could qualify for entrance to the Barrister-at-Law degree at King's Inns.
Alternatively, upon graduation, you may seek employment within state organisations, politics, NGOs, journalism, criminology/criminal justice and equality studies, or international institutions.
