This programme will prepare graduates for employment in the extensive pharmaceutical, biomedical and healthcare sectors in Ireland. Many opportunities also exist in the area of environmental protection, food
quality and safety, the regulatory agencies and research. Students will gain a professional qualification that will enhance their prospects for career advancement to managerial positions. Graduates also find employment in research or successfully undertake postgraduate research programmes leading to higher degrees.

Essential Information: 

There is an industrial work placement in year four.

• There is no need to have studied Biology at Leaving Certificate level, as the fundamentals of all science subjects are delivered in year one.
• This course is recognised by The Teaching Council for admission to the Higher Diploma in Education (HDip Ed).

Materials Fee
Students will be liable for an additional materials fee of €100 per year for certain full time programmes. This fee is not covered by Granting Authorities. Material Fees are not applicable to either Erasmus, Part-Time or Full time Non-EU students.
