This programme provides you with the technological, financial and managerial education foundations to enable you, in time, to direct the total construction process.

The practical and administrative training you will gain will enable you to communicate with craft, technical and managerial staff.

Career Opportunities

Graduates find employment in the construction industry at middle management level. With experience they can progress to higher management positions in a short time.

Follow-on Studies: 

A variety of options for progression are available for successful graduates to proceed, through an internal progression route, to year 4 of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Construction Management programme in GMIT or other institutes of technology or universities in Ireland and elsewhere.

Essential Information: 

Recognition by professional bodies
The course is fully recognised by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Level 7 graduates can immediately become Incorporated Members of the CIOB and with further study and appropriate professional experience can become full Chartered Members.

Work Placement
There is a five month (minimum) work placement during year three.

Materials Fee
Students will be liable for an additional materials fee of €100 per year for certain full time programmes. This fee is not covered by Granting Authorities. Material Fees are not applicable to either Erasmus, Part-Time or Full time Non-EU students.
