Mental Health Practice Msc/pgdip/pgcert in Bangor University
Mental health is an area of practice that all professionals will come across in their working lives and may be required to develop quality interventions in their own areas of professional practice. Mental health affects all ages and cultures and requires skilful and knowledgeable interventions to foster recovery.
Poor mental health is a leading cause of DALYs (Disability Adjusted Life Years) or years lost to illness, according to the World Health Organisation.
Mental health practice has been taught within Nursing and Social Work at the School of Health Sciences for many years and has expanded more recently into more specialised areas such as Dementia Care and Children and Adolescent's Mental Health care. We have our own inter-professional Centre for Mental Health and Society that focuses upon current local and global research topics.
Candidates from the local health board are able to study this course part time for up to 3 years. For more information please contact Marjorie Ghisoni – m.ghisoni@bangor.ac.uk.
