This flexible course is a part-time Masters level course for those who wish to enhance their effectiveness and profile in the workplace. It enables holders of the CIPD Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management to achieve an MA award.

Why Human Resource Management?

This MA top-up programmes builds on the 120 Level 7 credits attained from the CIPD course and allows candidates to undertake another 60 Level 7 credits for the award of MA (HR).

The teaching hours are designed to have minimal impact on the working day and additional study is undertaken in your own time, so you can study while working, and won't need ask your employer to release you for significant amounts of time. You can, however, still benefit from regular contact with lecturers and your fellow students.

The MA Human Resource Management has two parts. Firstly, there is the Research Methods module. This is a stand-alone module but is also designed to act as the springboard for the next stage, the management report (also known as the dissertation).  The course runs over three terms, one for the Research module, and two for the completion of the Management Report (dissertation).  You will be allocated a dedicated supervisor for the Management Report, and will be expected to hold regular meetings with them; this can be in person, by phone or via Skype etc.
