The King’s International Foundation – Liberal Arts & Social Science and the Extended King’s International Foundation – Liberal Arts & Social Science are specialist academic preparation courses designed for ambitious international and EU students who want to study a related undergraduate degree at King’s College London.
It is a full-time course aimed to develop your essential knowledge in your chosen degree subject area, introduce you to the UK education system and improve your academic English so that you’re fully prepared for your degree.
This course is ideal if you have excellent high school grades and:

Description
The King's International Foundation – Liberal Arts & Social Science and the Extended King's International Foundation - Liberal Arts & Social Science courses provide a structured journey for you to enter into related undergraduate degrees at King's.
You will learn essential skills to prepare you for the demands of undergraduate study including:
- Critical thinking
- Essay writing
- Research
- Exam techniques
- Presentation skills
By the end of the course, you will have improved your overall academic skills, your academic language and have a more detailed understanding of your chosen academic subject.
During the first semester, you will receive dedicated support for making your university application through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS)
You will also have the opportunity to take a range of optional International English Language Testing System (IELTS) classes and tutorials.
Teaching
A typical academic week includes an average of 16 contact hours, but some weeks will see a different number of contact hours. You are expected to commit to an average of 16 hours a week of independent study, including independent research tasks.
This course is typically taught through a combination of lectures, seminars and classes. You will be assigned a personal tutor who you will meet with on a regular basis to receive individual advice on your progress.
