This MFA in Fine Art, offered in partnership between BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and Northumbria University, Newcastle focuses upon fine art as an exploratory form of research activity driving the creation of new forms of aesthetic expression and social connectedness. The programme offers expert guidance on the development of your art practice in a research-rich environment with an internationally renowned faculty of artists, curators and writers. There is a focus on critical reflection and materials-led practice, learning both singly and through experiences of co-production and group performance and supported by access to leading resources through collective studios, public-facing project spaces and outstanding technical facilities. Students participate in a dynamic research exchange with BALTIC curatorial and educational staff, behind-the-scenes talks with visiting artists and in exhibition presentations providing invaluable experience of open forms of cultural exchange characteristic of the city and region.
