Our Business and Management degree is an engaging and interactive course. You will develop the skills and understanding you need to succeed in a wide range of business careers.
You will explore business issues in realistic contexts. You will apply business theory in the real world and develop your own:
- perspectives
- critical awareness
- and sensitivity to diverse global issues.
Our teaching staff have considerable experience and links with industry and publish in leading academic journals. We also invite leading professionals to come and give guest lectures.
In your first year you will study a range of modules which enable you to make informed module choices in your second year. To offer you flexibility, after your first year you can switch to one of our two other courses:

Learning and assessment
In Year 1 you will learn about business and management. You will focus on the international environment and the application of theory to practice.
You will study topics such as:
- contemporary business issues
- nature of responsible management
- significance of enterprise
- your personal development plan.
The development of your core management skills begins in the first year and includes:
- problem solving
- communication
- IT skills.
In Year 2 the core compulsory modules build on the knowledge you gained in the first year. You will:
- take a module to enhance your employability skills
- engage in the skills of project management using a live project
- select optional modules in consultation with your adviser.
In the final year you will integrate, extend and critique the knowledge you have gained. You will work independently and with peers. You will research and practically apply your learning.
