You’ll choose a specialised pathway:

The professional stream is directed towards graduates (primarily from the sciences and other technical industries, but also from other backgrounds) seeking qualification as patent and trade mark attorneys. 

You’ll get practical insight into the commercial aspects and day-to-day business of being a patent and trade mark attorney/litigator, while developing a strong understanding of the academic knowledge needed to apply the law. 

You’ll also have the opportunity to gain foundation level accreditation with the Intellectual Property Regulation Board (IPReg), Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and the Chartered Institute of Trademark Attorneys (CITMA).

The business stream is valuable to small-medium enterprises and self starters in industry.

You’ll gain an advanced and in-depth knowledge of intellectual property with regard to all aspects of business. You’ll learn about the law and its operation in areas such as press and media, the entertainment industry, internet and software industries, luxury goods, governments and international organisations.
