Nutritionists within the public health sector play an important role in promoting good health and preventing diet-related disease in the population. This course equips recent graduates and health professionals with the knowledge and skills to specialise in public health nutrition.

Work placements

You complete the work related learning module to reflect on personal and professional development and produce an Action Plan. You're required to identify areas for personal development in your action plans and identify objectives and activities to undertake.

Typical activities include work shadowing/volunteering, attending nutrition and food-related conferences, events and workshops and undertaking online courses. You also produce a reflective portfolio where you map your developmental activities to the core competencies for nutritonists outlined by the Association for Nutrition (AfN).
