Our award-winning Animation degree covers stop motion, 2D animation and 3D digital animation that will help you develop the practical skills and technical expertise you need to create your own film by the end of the course. Our BA (Hons) Animation degree is a unique course designed to help you create animated characters and narrative that not only capture the imagination of an audience but have an awareness of the social and cultural place within that art form. This distinctive course is rooted in creative thinking and self-expression accompanied by a good technical knowledge of current industry practices, including script writing, character design, storyboarding, animating, editing and sound design.
Animation at UCLan enjoys an excellent reputation and, for the past six years, our students have been winners of Royal Television Society regional prizes. By working on ‘live’ client briefs for organisations such as the NHS and Preston City Council, you will gain vital employ-ability skills such as knowledge of how to work with a client and overcoming hurdles met by professional animators.
