Immerse yourself in the concepts and applications of the building blocks of civil engineering on this degree course. Our civil engineering course, founded with strong industry links, is different in respect of our unique location, situated in a region which boasts a wide range of cutting-edge engineering and technological-advanced organisations. You’ll be equipped with the principles and concepts of engineering, underpinned by a sound knowledge and understanding of scientific principles. You’ll be taught by research-informed teaching staff and will benefit from state-of-the-art laboratories and digital teaching and learning facilities within the UCLan Engineering Innovation Centre.
- You can practise in the broad area of civil engineering or specialise either as a structural engineer, environmental engineer, or engineering hydrologist.
- Benefit from regular field trips to visit examples of best practice projects, as well as the opportunity to engage with live projects.
- Opportunities to become a research intern, working with UCLan’s research staff during the summer vacation whilst you are still a student.

With the introduction of the Engineering Innovation Centre, due to open in 2019, over £2 million of investment has already been made in new equipment across engineering including flumes and structural testing machines for civil engineering.
