Business And Management (law) BA (hons) in University of Gloucestershire

Many businesses value employees with knowledge and understanding of the legal system, commercial and employability law alongside the other elements of a business and management degree.

The law stream of Business and Management provides an in-depth insight into some of the legal issues applicable to business and management.  By completing the law stream, you will be able to identify where potential legal issues and liabilities may arise, as well as understanding how the relevant legislation applies in different factual contexts.  A broad understanding of different legal areas will be established at Level 4, including Contract Law, tortious liabilities, intellectual property rights and business formation.  Students will then complete particularly relevant legal modules, such as: commercial law, including the sale of goods and consumer protection; company law, considering the legal formation of companies as well as the rights and obligations on directors and shareholders; and employment law, focusing on employment status and contracts, equality in the workplace and both lawful and unlawful termination of employment contracts.  As part of the course, students can also gain a Level 5 qualification in managing equality, diversity, and inclusion from the Chartered Management Institute.

Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), all our Business and Management degrees ensure you develop essential skills, knowledge and experience whilst completing a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management as part of your studies. This means potential employers will be confident that you are ‘career ready’ to do anything from working for a multinational corporation to starting and running your own business.

You will also have the option to choose a year-long placement in industry.
