Our architecture degree, accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), is your first step to a professional career in architecture.

Teaching is based at our Stockwell Street Building in Heneghan Peng-designed galleries. Studio-based tutorial groups provide all the skills and knowledge you'll need via a range of approaches to architectural design. 

You'll learn to use design software and gain visual and drawing skills. You will also study architectural practice, the history of architecture, sustainability, contemporary theory and technology. Successful graduates will gain exemption from the RIBA Part 1 examination.

Careers and placements

Will I have a work placement?

This course is designed to prepare students for progression into year-out practice in the architectural profession, leading to advanced level study in RIBA/ARB part 2 MArch in Architecture. Therefore, students rarely take work placements or internships in addition to this pathway.

What sort of careers do graduates pursue?

This course is designed to prepare students for progression into year-out practice in the architectural profession, leading to advanced level study in RIBA/ARB part 2 MArch in Architecture.

As well as becoming architects, graduates can pursue opportunities in computer-aided design, animation, urban design, interior design, arts and media, project management, graphic design and the construction industry.

Do you provide employability services?

Employability activities take place all the time at Greenwich and students are encouraged to take part in as many opportunities as possible. The central Employability and Careers Service provides support for students preparing to apply for placements and graduate roles, such as CV clinics, mock interviews and employability skills workshops. 

Each School also has its own Employability Officer who provides specific opportunities relevant to your own course. They work closely with professionals in industry to ensure you are well-prepared for the workplace and have already begun to build your professional network by the time you graduate. Many students go about finding their year out placements in practice.
