Our extended degree in business logistics and transport management is identical to the three-year degree but incorporates a foundation year to prepare you for the rest of your study.
The course focuses on logistics and transport management within organisations. You'll explore topics such as business processes, planning and development, project management and logistics. The first-year modules are common to a number of our degrees, so you should be able to switch to another course if it better matches your developing skills.
Roles taken up by business logistics and transport management graduates include logistics operations manager, supply chain manager and operations director.
Careers and placements
Will I have a work placement?
Work placements are optional, and you are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the University.
Previous students on the three-year course have secured a placement year at DHL, JP Morgan Chase, Sandals Resorts International and HP.
How long is my placement?
Work placements are 9-12 months of full-time paid work. You take this between the second and third years of study.
What are the financial arrangements?
UK placement annual salaries range between £13,000-£18,000 per pro rata. Some charity / voluntary work organisations offer travel costs and lunch expenses in lieu of a full salary.

Career opportunities in transport and logistics roles include logistics operations manager, supply chain manager, procurement officer, transport manager, operations director, project manager and distribution manager.
Are internships available?
Internships are optional, and last for a minimum of six weeks. Gain a Certificate in Professional Practice and valuable employment experience before graduating.
