Our 4-year business studies degree with foundation year offers the practical skills you need to work in project management, business development and finance.
Our extended degree in business studies is identical to the three-year degree but includes a foundation year to prepare you for the rest of your study.
The course will give you the practical skills you need for a career in business development and management. Modules include business processes, project management, and economics for business. The opportunity to work with business professionals and/or local communities on live projects offers practical experience.

Careers and placements
Will I have a work placement?
Work placements are optional, and you are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the university.
Previous students from the three-year course have secured a placement year at IBM and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
How long is my placement?
Work placements are 9-12 months of full-time paid work. You take this between the second and third years of study.
What are the financial arrangements?
UK placement annual salaries range between £13,000 and £18,000 pro rata. Some charity/voluntary work organisations offer travel costs and lunch expenses in lieu of a full salary.
What sort of careers do graduates pursue?
Graduates from this degree may pursue opportunities in management, leadership, strategy, project management, human resource management, operations and logistics, advertising and marketing, and finance.
Are internships available?
Internships are optional, and last for a minimum of six weeks. Gain a Certificate in Professional Practice and valuable employment experience before graduating.
