Business With Marketing (extended), BA Hons in University of Greenwich

Our extended business and marketing degree includes a foundation year to prepare you for degree-level study. Plus you’ll get an employer-friendly mix of marketing and business skills.

Our extended degree in business with marketing is identical to the three-year degree but includes a foundation year. This specialism in marketing is designed to introduce you to business from an analytical, strategic and marketing point of view.

Emphasis on emerging issues such as sustainability, financial crises and technological innovation means that you'll gain the skills to develop and manage businesses to a high standard. The course also gives you the opportunity to work with business professionals and/or local communities on live projects. 

Careers in specialist strategic marketing areas are popular with business with marketing graduates, especially within retail management, consultancy, small to medium businesses and start-ups.

Careers and placements

Will I have a work placement?

Work placements are optional, and you are responsible for arranging your placement with support from the university.

Previous students from the three-year course have secured a placement year at Warner Bros, Sandals Resort,  Enterprise-Rent-A-Car and University of Greenwich.

How long is my placement?

Work placements are 9-12 months of full-time paid work. You take this between the second and third years of study.

What are the financial arrangements?

UK placement annual salaries range between £13,000-£18,000 pro rata. Some charity/voluntary work organisations offer travel costs and lunch expenses in lieu of a full salary.

What sort of careers do graduates pursue?

Graduates have the same career opportunities as those graduating from our three-year course. Career opportunities are available with a specialist strategic marketing focus in general management within retail, consultancy, small to medium enterprises and business start-up.

Are internships available?

Internships are optional, and last for a minimum of six weeks. Gain a Certificate in Professional Practice and valuable employment experience before graduating.
