Our landscape architecture degree is the only course of its kind in London and is accredited by the Landscape Institute. Teaching takes place in our state-of-the-art Stockwell Street Building, which has extensive design studios, a living wall and green roofs for teaching and research purposes.

You'll study a range of approaches to landscape design, from public spaces and waterfronts to town planning, urban development and regional strategies. As well as design studio work, you'll learn about the history and theory of landscapes, ecology, conservation, and digital communication. Your course portfolio will support employment opportunities in world-class landscape architecture practices around the world.

Careers and placements

Will I have a work placement?

This course is designed to prepare students for progression into year-out practice in the landscape architecture profession, which leads to advanced level study. Students rarely take work placements or internships in addition to this pathway.

What sort of careers do graduates pursue?

Opportunities are available in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Planning and Urban Design. Recent graduates have gained employment in the public and private sectors in the UK and worldwide. Many have continued to design and work on leading landscape projects such as the London Olympic Park, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore and the Eden Project.

Do you provide employability services?

Employability activities take place all the time at Greenwich and students are encouraged to take part in as many opportunities as possible. The central Employability and Careers Service provides support for students preparing to apply for placements and graduate roles, such as CV clinics, mock interviews and Employability skills workshops. 

Each School also has its own Employability Officer who provides specific opportunities relevant to your own course. They work closely with professionals in industry to ensure you are well-prepared for the workplace and have already begun to build your professional network by the time you graduate.
