Our foundation course in Sound and Live Event Production allows you to build up the knowledge and confidence to progress on to the BSc (Hons) Sound and Live Event Production degree, and to the lighting and live event industry.

The Sound and Live Event Production course will give you the technical skills to transform live performances into events. You'll study live sound, video, rigging and lighting technology for use in all kinds of venues, from theatre, concerts and festivals, to TV, themed attractions and corporate events.

There is a balance of theoretical and practical applications of technology, so you'll learn how to work with artistic colleagues to find creative solutions to the practical challenges of staging live events.

We regularly get involved in all kinds of events, from pop-up castle cinemas to live sports broadcasts. This mix of theory and practice will prepare you for a career in entertainment, broadcasting, touring logistics, technical production companies, and technical sales.

There are plenty of opportunities to use what you learn on this course, from practical sessions on campus in The Cube, to work placements, attending events and field visits.
