Law LLB (hons) in University of West London

Are you looking for an intellectually stimulating role that helps you fulfil your potential? This LLB Law degree gives you the knowledge, tools and experience that will ready you for a rewarding career as a legal professional.

Your studies will focus on the law in action, and will be lead by experts in law and legal practice.

Work experience placements will help you understand the issues currently facing the profession. We offer a number of opportunities to put your new legal knowledge into practice. These opportunities include providing legal counsel to the community at our legal advice centre, marshalling with judges and shadowing lawyers.

As you work towards attaining your LLB degree, you will develop a thorough understanding of the complexities of the legal system. You will also develop key skills to help you navigate your new career.

This law degree is recognised by the Bar and the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which means you can pursue a career as a solicitor or barrister once you graduate.

This law degree lets you focus on applying knowledge in practice, using real-world legal scenarios. All modules are taught with reference to current legal practice, in order to keep you up to date with ongoing changes in the profession.

We aim to give you a well-rounded education in all aspects of the law, so you will experience:

  • close interaction with teaching staff
  • pre-course support to help you prepare for your studies
  • field trips to locations such as the European Court of Human Rights, Supreme Court, Old Bailey, Inns of Court
  • regular mooting competitions – your chance to practice your skills in a simulated courtroom scene
  • the opportunity to compete for student prizes.

In addition, you will have the chance to learn from the wisdom and experience of leading guest speakers, including academics, barristers, judges and solicitors. Their expertise will raise your awareness of how the law operates in the real world.

During your final year, you will be able to gain work experience that allows you to put what you have learned into context in a professional work environment. You could work with an agency, such as the Citizens Advice Bureau or the Free Representation Network, or with the Law School’s advice centre in Ealing – the Community Advice Programme.
