To to evaluate current and emerging advanced engineering materials and manufacturing processes such as the ones used in polymer products and in rapid manufacturing and prototyping technologies. The aim is to develop a critical understanding as to how these materials and associated manufacturing processes can be exploited. The module will offer an opportunity to design, develop, manufacture and evaluate a sustainable engineering solution for a bespoke application. The module will allow the students to undertake a group based design, make and test investigation project based around open ended case study data. The work is expected to exploit the available advanced manufacturing processes of metal based ALM and 5 axis CNC manufacturing

The MSc Dissertation enables you to undertake an in-depth individual research project in an area directly linked to your subject area and interests. This will ensure that you undertake scholarly work that further develops an aspect of the taught material and thereby contributes to your personal development and training towards professional practice.
