This major prepares students for pursuing a graduate degree in economics and related fields, while also offering strong career opportunities both in the private sector and in government.

In comparison to the regular major in economics, the combined major in Economics and Mathematics emphasizes economics courses with more formal mathematical analysis and contains a higher math course requirement, thereby allowing students to understand and conduct more advanced research in economics and quantitative analysis.
