Statistics
The Department offers several introductory courses. Students interested in statistical concepts, who plan on consuming, but not creating statistics, should take STAT UN1001 INTRO TO STATISTICAL REASONING. The course is designed for students who have taken a pre-calculus course, and the focus is on general principles.

Mathematics
The major in mathematics is an introduction to some of the highlights of the development of theoretical mathematics over the past four hundred years from a modern perspective. This study is also applied to many problems, both internal to mathematics and arising in other disciplines such as physics, cryptography, and finance.
