Medical Laboratory Science Major
The program prepares you for a career as a medical laboratory scientist, bench-level technologist, supervisor or laboratory manager. Imagine a career where you perform a wide range of tests to detect subtle changes that occur in diseases.

Gerontology Major
Gerontology, the interdisciplinary study of aging, is a rapidly growing field. There are now more than 30 million individuals who are over the age of 65 and make up about 13 percent of the American population. This growing population translates into the need for more professionals trained in the field of gerontology.

Forensic Science Major
Forensic scientists interpret evidence obtained from the scene of a crime. They often identify suspects through tiny traces of scientific evidence. Their research is a difference-maker in acquitting the innocent or convicting the guilty. We're also set up for more practical experiences.

Exercise Science Major
Graduates in Exercise Science at Youngstown State University are prepared for certification through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP) and/or the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
